1st FABTEC India with a Perfect Debut
Go global – for the first time ever, the Schall group promoted FABTEC India, international trade fair for sheet metal processing, joining technology, painting and coating, in cooperation with its partner Codissia in the Indian city of Coimbatore – with great success. Good news right from the start in supposedly bad times: The launching of FABTEC India in Coimbatore succeeded right off the bat, and a great majority of the exhibitors enjoyed concrete RFQs and spontaneous orders amounting to millions. For private trade fair promoter Paul E. Schall and his Indian collaborator Codissia, this is more than ample confirmation that they took the right steps at the right time. These steps included the initial kickoff of the innovative FABTEC India trade fair at a time when many of the manufacturers and suppliers from the respective industry had full order books. The concept is based upon presenting the only process-sequence trade fair in India and Southeast Asia, as far as the spectrum of offerings and information is concerned, for all aspects of sheet metal processing – from raw sheet right on up to fully assembled, painted or coated sheet metal assemblies.
With great commitment and drive, project manager Monika Frank, on behalf of trade fair organisers P.E. Schall GmbH & Co.KG, and trade fair manager S. Ramprasath, on behalf of collaboration partner Codissia, publicised and promoted FABTEC India 2009 again and again, and finally brought it to its well deserved success. When the event opened, more than 70 exhibitors, primarily from Germany and India, occupied considerably more than 30,000 square feet of exhibition floor space and thus nearly filled up pavilions A and B in India’s second largest exhibition centre located in Coimbatore. Situated with foresight in one of the most dynamic and rapidly growing industrial regions throughout India and Southeast Asia, the offerings presented by FABTEC precisely matched the needs of the target groups.
Roughly 10,000 expert visitors poured into the Codissia Exhibition Centre from the 21st through the 25th of January, 2009, and pushed trade fair booth personnel right up to the limits of their capabilities. And the fact that this was indeed the case is plainly demonstrated by the outstanding figures published by Indian event partner Codissia indicating that “business was generated amounting to 350 million Indian rupees, which is roughly equivalent to a tidy order sum of €5.5 million Euro and, on the average, distributed over the 70 plus exhibitors, translates into strong success directly at the event. Furthermore, all of the exhibitors expressed enormous satisfaction, and reported exclusively highly interesting discussions and RFQs.

Consequently, it’s no wonder that all of the exhibitors made firm commitments to participate at the 2nd FABTEC from 21 through 25 January 2011, once again in Coimbatore, even before the final day of the event. Due to the fact that key players are setting up operations in the region because of the growing significance of the economic centre in and around Coimbatore, who in turn attract supplier and subcontractors, there’s every indication that lasting market potential exists. And this is all the more important when, as is now the case, things are not going so well for globalised production and world economy in other market regions.
The next Fabtec takes place from 21. to 25.01 2011 in India, Coimbatore.
